i was jobless for 2 years. and i lied. to get a job. they didn't even bother to check the references to work as Tech support contractor for CitiBank.

I am trying to transition careers IT software field different from low level tech support.
having my friend vouch for me as a supervisor.

at least you know how to the job. i see resume on Indeed, there no way so many people have 4-7 same positions in the same title just job hopping companies, leaving fortune 500 companies for no name companies. they lying. HR knows anyway resumes have lies and know people are desperate for jobs . at least my college degree is real.

No, never. But I have not had many jobs that required a resume in my life.

Yes, others have. There was a discussion of that. One person had their wife lie and get hired for a high pressure job which she quit and realized it isn't as glamours as one might think.

If I was desperate, then yes I'd do it....Hoping I was competent enough to handle it daily and learn as much as possible on the side...

I wouldn't lie, but I would embelish the hell out of every little mundane thing I Did at a job to make it seem more important than it was. That had worked well for me, but you gotta walk the talk as well.

No, I have never felt the need to lie or unreasonably embellish.

So would you later cheat on work duties to "keep" job? Cut corners to meet production? Cook books to make it look like you turned a profit?

Default Um

I wouldn't lie because it can blow up in your face. If you say things you've done and accomplished I'm sure they will expect to see you perform to that standard. Exaggerating a little bit and lying I think are different. Also, they sometimes do employee verifications and check references about duties so don't lie.

No. Where I work you will be fired if they catch you later. Even years later.

For some people, they have no choice. If they get caught, big deal, they wouldn't of gotten the job if they where truthful anyway.
