True so that will probably be the plan if the job is offered. He did ask me what site would I prefer working out of 3 and I chose the one closer to home. So the only way I would decline the offer and accept unemployment is if I have to work at the furthest away from home.

Out of the three sites, the closet one is 2 miles away, the 2nd one is 7 miles and the furthest one is 20 miles away. I would only have to go to the furthest one Saturday a month or every other month

So you would prefer unemployment to a 20 mile commute. That is a risky trade, as it appears your skill set is quite limited in being marketable.

What I would have to take on a daily basis I may just choose unemployment over a long commute to find something closer since I would be catching public transportation. I don't work as far now and still get home close to 7pm some nights and it would probably be 8pm working in that area.

Yes but in order to catch one you have to get on the subway and stay until the last stop. Then wait for a bus which is even more time. If I was to accept the job and be closer to home, I would only have to go to that area on a Saturday once a month. And we both know it won't matter what time I get home on a Saturday night because I would be off Sunday and Monday
Well I checked my email today and I got a little excited because I thought it was notification about a interview for one of the state jobs I applied to 2 weeks ago. I was told that when you are setup for a interview you will receive a email from a actual person and when I saw a lady's name I just knew it was about a job interview. Turns out it was an computer generated response saying the same thing for 3 different positions
" An overwhelming number of qualified candidates applied for this position, and it was not possible to interview all those who applied. I am sorry to inform you that you were not among those selected to interview.

The other two positions I applied for in April has not generated that response yet so I guess I still have a chance for a interview so nothing to do but stay positive
And risk losing the current job and may not get the job you are interviewing for.
