Some of the people who were their tenants had many children, and they were stuffed into two-bedroom apartments. So, there is a disparity in the wealth, just as in most of the rest of the USA, but there also seems to be a great deal of charity within the community.
The disparity of wealth within the Satmar is not the same as the rest of the US. In a way it's a Socialist system. On the front side people see people in Black. Yet if one looks closer at the details they'll notice very expensive materials. Foe example if one knows fur's they can easily spot that the shtreimel's the men are wearing are the one's that cost 1000's of dollars. If one looks at the wig's, many to most are high end weaves. If one takes a closer look at the materials men's coats are made of and know about quality, they'll notice that they don't wear off the rack suits. There are numerous more details.

Sounds like lack of internet usage as it's more common to use '^' in order to denote it.

Oh yeah, my boss wore very good quality suits, and I know the sheitels worn by the women who worked there cost a lot of money, both initially and when they got them reconditioned.

And here's your possible TIL; Those who worked in the stores and were part of the dynasty got two methods of paychecks. One was the paper one so the gov't would think they were in poverty so to get the benefits of it and the other one was cash in an envelope sometimes known as a slang word sometimes known as floose (Deuteronomy 24:15).

I understand that you're talking about a specific Jewish community which you don't care for. But does it ever occur to you that people reading such posts on this public forum (and I'm talking about people in the general population who have virtually no experience with Jews and probably don't even personally know any Jews) apply these things that you say to ALL Jews? Because it's not really such a big step for such people to make. Especially for those who are already convinced that Jews are rich, control the media, and so on and so on.

Not a problem: This is mostly specific to Hasidic Jews, but it also done by Orthodox Iraqi & Syrian Jews who have businesses in midtown Manhattan. The statement made is from personal experiences within these communities and not hearsay or third party.

You entirely missed the point of what I was attempting to impart to you.
