There certainly appears to be some sort of rink in the 1963 view of 40 Hiway & Noland, but I have no recollection of it. That could be on account'a that area was far from my usual stomping grounds.

You are correct that the Van Horn residence made way for the Van Horn High School. However, the house in my photo isn't that one.

Margaret was the family member responsible for donating the home's location for the new building, although she never lived there.

We "joined" Arrow Rock and my recollection is it never finished, becoming insolvent. Thanks for posting this, I would not have remembered where it was located, just that we had driven there looking over the "progress" a time or two before the project went belly-up.

We later joined Rockwood

To my recollection, I had not heard of either the Arrow Rock or Kentucky Hills country clubs.

I'm looking at Google Maps of Salisbury/24 and the Club may have been destined for the area between Holder and Broadway. There are a couple of ponds there and what golf course doesn't have a pond or two?

The $120,000 estimated total cost in 1958 is equal to about $989,000 in 2014 according to the Labor Bureau inflation index.

The only facility matching that description that My Beloved and I recall was a bit further east on Salisbury. It only had the pool, and sat way south of the road. It is visible in this 1963 view.

I believe the subdivision built in the 1970s south and east of 291 & Salisbury carried the Arrow Rock name.
