My family and I usually go to Maui on vacation every summer, but we're going to Kauai next June instead. Does anyone have any recommendations on places to stay? This will be our first trip to Kauai, so we don't really know what to expect. We will be staying for 2 weeks and I thought about splitting the time between the Princeville and Poipu areas.

We stayed at a great condo here.
Hanalei Bay Resort Condos and Suites.
Don't deal directly with Hanalei Bay Resort.
Contact the owner of the condo yourself.
Stay on the top floor. The lofts are cool.
I believe this is the one we stayed at.

Where to stay on Kauai?
You may check innparadisekauai. They have reasonably priced accommodations with close proximity to beach and shopping areas.

get a beach house. i payed $1400 for a week right on the water. oh, and kauai is a great choice!

We've stayed in Poipu twice... at the Kiahuna Plantations. Condo-style with good amenities. You should be able to find one in your price point. Our 1 bedroom condo was about $200/night.
