I just saw on the news that a Cessna went down on Kauai, I think yesterday? It was coming from the Big Island, with a pilot and two tourists.

When we were there in 2007 there were two helicopter crashes within days of each other. The first crashed at the Princeville airport, less than a mile from my son's place. The second one crashed in Haena just minutes after we'd driven through there. I remember the pilot in the first crash was very well respected and much loved on the island.

Anyway, this plane crash brought back those memories so I stopped to say a prayer for the families of the crash victims from last year as well as those involved in this crash. They've not been found so let's pray that they're found alive.

I think the news story you are referring to was a missing tour plane on the Big Island, and did not have anything to do with Kaua`i. Star-Bulletin story: Big Island tour plane disappears | starbulletin.com | News | /2008/06/18/

Yes, you're right. I caught a glimpse of it on the news and that terrible feeling came back to me from when the helicopters crashed last year. I thought they said Kauai but I may have been hearing it because my husband and son are there.

Thanks for the link.

And still, prayers for those missing.

I honeymooned in Kauai in 2002 and remember that every so often there would be a helicopter crash. That's part of the reason we never took a chopper flight. Very sad. Hope they find them alive.
