Can anyone help me find pics of either side from atop South Holston Dam in Bristol? My husband is from Michigan (where we are now due to his job) but we met in MY home, NE tennessee! We were together there for just a bit when we had to leave & I regrettably did not get the chance to show him all the beauty of our area. I have been describing the Dam forever but cannot find ANY pics from the top! PLEASE e-mail me if you can help!! Thanks!!

I just put "south holston dam bristol images" into Google and it showed a number of images. Maybe one of these would be satisfactory; some of them show the dam from above.

Wow. TS.
The lake looks so full! When I was there it was drastically lower. Great pictures!

I lived about 2 miles downstream from the Dam. I was born in 1048. Most of my uncle's and my father helped build the Dam. One uncle was a monitor who opened the traffic gates and worked in the observation building on top of the dam. I went to Emmert Elementary school not far from the Dam. I spent many day's fishing both South Holston Lake and South Holston River. It was, and still is one of the greatest places on earth to be from.

Default Thanks Kamoshika

My wife and I really like the Jefferson county area of TN, particularly near Cherokee Lake. Now, I am showing her the Tri Cities area as a potential retirement location. Your fantastic pictures enable both of us to get a sense of the beauty of the mountains, lakes, wild flowers, etc. What you do is a great service to me and others that view your images. Thank you very much.
