We went out for a late dinner and at 9 pm we still had a 15 minute wait at Olive Garden in Johnson City (by the mall). We didn't get home to Maryville until very, very late. Great waiter there by the name of Will.

Wow that is a wait. Olive Garden up here is always busy too! I have to ask isn't Maryville like 2 hours from Johnson City? I'm guessing you drive up there just for the scenic drive?

It was a gorgeous, gorgeous day and we were already in JC. We didn't realize we were going to still be there that late! We just went with the flow. So nice to be footloose and fancy free again now that my baby is 18. Been a Mommy for so many years it is nice to rediscover me.

Smile Spring is (finally!) in the air....

Saw my first robin the other day.....a sure sign of spring here in western New York!

Although the ice scraper is still in my car, I have tucked away the "heavy-duty" snowbrush and boots until next winter. My narcissus, crocus and miniature iris have blossomed, the birds are chirping away and......I will be enjoying a nice lunch with my granddaughter (who will no doubt be awake at the crack of noon!) this afternoon.

Life is good.

My birthday will hit during our May visit and in searching the forum for a nice place for a b-day dinner, we have zeroed in on Bistro 105 in Jonesborough. Thought we could poke around town a bit before they reopened at 5 p.m. for their dinner hours.

Has anyone been there?

Default Where to go this weekend?

Hubby and I want to get out of the house and do something, preferable go on a picture taking trip. We will take 3 cameras, several lenses and want to have some interesting subject matter. However with hubby's knee as bad as it is, we can't do much walking and no rough terrain for sure. So, it is going to have to be pretty much car trip with short easy walks. Any suggestions? Or does anyone that may not live here have any requests? hahahahhaha
He is just so sick of working then coming home to deal with the knee that he has been having to be on through out the day. He wants to get out of the house! He is so active and high energy that this is driving him stir crazy. The accident happened back in Dec so he is really going nuts by now, poor guy LOL! He is looking for some cool barns to shoot pictures of then paint.
Any and all suggestions welcome.

Well..... if the thought of it doesn't creep you out... I'd love to see some pics of any interesting old cemetaries in this area. I have one near me that I'm looking forward to exploring when/if it stops raining on my days off. Mausolems, gaudy marble angels, decaying moss covered headstones, etc. fascinate me. (BTW New Orleans, Cinncinati, and Memphis have some gorgeous old cemetaries, if anyone else shares my odd interest LOL!)
