Can anyone give us pros and cons of moving to Sevierville area prior to retirement. We will still have to work for a few years but house prices and taxes seem a lot cheaper than here in PA.

Have you read all of the recent threads on this same topic? It might answer a lot of your questions.
Are you coming here with jobs, or are you going to have to find work?

Hope you like traffic.

My husband works at Walmart and hopes to transfer and I will need to look for work, secretarial or retail.

A lot of retirees have done this before you. The struggle for most is being able to find, and keep, jobs year round. Good luck and I agree, check out the previous threads on this subject.

As the others have said, do a "search" on living in that area. Tons has been written. Bottom line is you are attempting to retire to a tourist area which is usually not that best idea. Prices are higher, traffic is heavy, work tends to be very low pay and seasonal.

You are better off to position yourself somewhere like Maryville, Knoxville, Farragut, Seymour, Kodak, etc., and visit the tourist areas when you want to.

Good luck!
