Has anyone driven by the McDonald's off of Lohman on Walton in the last day? I was returning some stuff to Hastings and noticed the entire north and west walls were tagged. The weird thing is, that McDonald's is open 24 hours. You'd think an employee present would have spied this immediately and notified the authorities.

Maybe an employee did the graffiti.

What makes you think they didn't?

Neither do I. See this thread:

Do you mean ghetto:Las Cruces/NM State or ghett:UNM?

I see some in Albuquerque, but I think it's more prevalent in the
1970's-era neighborhoods, but that's just my impression.

Because there was quite a bit of it. If the police were notified, the perpetrator would not have been able to put as much graffiti on the walls, without eventually being apprehended.

Hi Mike. I used to live in N.M. I lived in Cruces for years, then tried S.F., then ABQ, then Silver, trying to keep the sunshine but lose the crappy attitudes of "there is no problem here with trashiness/crime/drugs/DUIs/child abuse/vandalism" etc etc and etc. I left. You won't find the WILL and the MINDSET in N.M. to change anything for the better. It's always "that's how it is" or "I don't see anything wrong" or "that's our culture, guerro" or some other lamebrained excuse.

Now I have the sunshine, good pay, almost no crime, cheap housing, respect for others' property and rights. I had it in other places, too -- have lived all over after leaving N.M. But I don't think you'll find the way N.M. is going to be very positive.

No one is willing to step up to the plate and say "Basta ja" -- they are always drowned out by the "this place is so kewl and that's just the price of admission" crowd, and the "ghetto-calling" crowd. Very few of whom are NATIVE NEW MEXICANS like I am, by the way. Never saw a native yet who is all happy over the destruction of the state by the tagging morons and their ilk.

Perhaps they were apprehended. Perhaps the police were busy chasing burglars and couldn't get there right away.

Does LC have a anti-graffiti program (City truck with a couple of guys who respond to complaints with acetone or paint or Police tracking individuals with photo evidence.)?

If the BNSF trains went slower or had a large rail yard in LC, they could tag the trains and they would be gone the next day

I loved that McD's story, and the lack of will. Slacker, indifferent people are the bane of society.
