It pays to look like someone famous. He does look like someone. I just can't place the name though.

You might be onto something. Everyone knows that Tom Arnold was heavy and most people know that he lost weight but many might be unsure how he looks right now.

The OP might fit the idea of what Tom Arnold might look like at a lower weight. And he looks enough like him that they would be afraid not to "recognize" him. Better safe than sorry.

I would think that Bill Gates is quite possible. Particularly if they know or thnk he is in town.

Gates is quite capable of wandering freely. He is not a big security nut counting more on not being expected than on strong arms.

At one point in his life he use to take outrageous chances. May have gotten a little more cautious but I would not be surprised to see him wandering in Vegas.

Note that I saw Michael Jackson do it a couple of times. Much more difficult as he does attract a crowd. Gates does not...or at least did not.

I'll have to look. But I just don't have that many pictures of me.
Mostly they are of my wife.

Some questions though.
In LAX is the quiet room under the stairs the VIP room? Does that have restricted access?
Was the 'King Ink' show with drinks and food open to just about everyone?
How rigid is the security on private parties. Can you just walk in most if you don't look lost?

I am assuming that free drinks while you gamble is standard fair.
And the lunchtime meal I got was because I hung around the tables.
And everyone gets one of those loyalty cards from casinos when they first arrive that comp from $10 - $50 of your losses.

How much of what happened is
1) Standard, everyone gets it
2) If you dress nice and treat people special, they will treat you special.
3)They must have thought you were someone else. (I can do a good Alton Brown if I spike my hair)

I kinda like 2
But you guys are telling me it must be 3?

{PS Someone gave me a 'reputation point' for the picture of my wife. LOL}

I just got to ask: Did you leave big tips? If not, I wonder what kind of treatment the actual person they thought you were will get on their next visit.

Sounds like you had a great time. I don't know who you look like but it worked.

I've had some similar things happen to me but never THAT good. If you dress well, you are treated better. And if you are polite to the workers, all kinds of things can happen.
