To put water in Lake Mead you have to pray for snow in the Rockies, and it has to be above normal snowfall for about seven years. And not just the Rockies, but specifically, the west slope of the Rockies.

I like this weather, but I fear for my pipes sometimes. Like everybody else, I hate the wind. I never seem to learn that wind and Christmas decorations don't mix. And doing anything outside in wind is bad enough, but cold wind makes it unbearable.
Yep. The wind is making it miserable. When I left the house in the morning, the sun was shining and the air was chilly, but still. By the time I got to work, I wished to God that I had brought my wool coat with me.

In the summer, the wind makes the valley feel like a convection oven or hair dryer in your face. In the winter, it just takes your skin off and freezes your eyeballs. I too, hate wind. People from very cold regions of the country (who typically scoff at Vegas winters) were even complaining about it today.

Today wasn't bad. Tomorrow should be nice. I can deal with 50. I still freeze my nips off in the morning going to work though.

You need to get some nip cozies. They really do make those harsh LV winters more bearable. Or, just drink more.

maybe some Christmas lights under your clothes like people do to keep trees warm. Festive and functional!

Yes. Next time we meet (if it's cold) I'll be drinking and wearing my lights and my cozies.

Do we get to pinch them?.... No?

Okay.

Seriously, it has been unseasonably cold for us this fall (can you believe it's not officially winter yet?)
It's supposed to cut us some slack tomorrow though.

On the bright side, Lee Canyon got some good snow, so the local skiers might be enjoying it.

Buy me a drink and we'll talk.

Your temps will be on a rise toward the 60's soon. Hang in there.

This is the one I feel the most sorry for. She has learned to go outside to do her business and, even with her little sweater, it's darned cold out there. She races back inside and instantly finds the warmest spot she can - usually in my arms. And her feet are COLD!!!

Try having dogs like that in the snowbelt, and watching them go outside in the freshly shovelled "potty path" I would have to make for them in the yard. They don't bat an eye at 39 degrees now!

Try an electric blanket. Mine has been wonderful for me and the fuzzbutts.
