It'll go somewhere in education. Not to the students. You can bet will start at the top and more administrators will added, more "consultants" will be hired, more worthless materials purchased, etc. It's highly unlikely that it will make it to the students in any meaningful way.

And that's the crux of the problem, isn't it? While you'd think the economies of scale would make sense, CCSD has become a beast that is out of control with waste and inefficiency.

When people like you, and Mrs. Scoop who have been in the trenches are telling me that more money won't help the current mess, I'm inclined to believe you.

Time to break up CCSD, not feed it.

You're being deluded here. It isn't jealousy that is causing others here to lash out at you, but rather your pompous self absorbed attitude. To be perfectly clear, I have absolutely no reason to be jealous of you. I'm in my early 30s and have a 7 figure net worth. Could I retire right now? Yes, but I have no reason to. I take pride in growing my businesses and enjoy doing so.

I vote against my own self interest all the time. That's not to say that I don't ever think about my own interests but I vote more so on my conscious and what I believe to be fundamentally right. I imagine many others do the same. That certainly doesn't mean you have to as well. You of course have the full right to vote however you want. But you can't honestly expect people to warm up to you when you make it so clear that you do so for extremely selfish reasons and seem so proud to do so. To the point where you welcome recessions and the destruction of millions of lives just to slightly increase your own bottom line. People will lash out at you. And it's not due to jealousy. Although you may have convinced yourself that it must be.

The big cost in K-12 education is salaries. Primarily of teachers, secondarily of support personnel. Administration exists but is a small percentage of the budget. If you cut the admin cost in half you could raise the other salaries perhaps 5%.

There are a number of areas that could be looked at...seniority payments. basoc requirements, advanced degree payments for instance. Any of that actually have any value? Maybe go back to two year normal school graduates for the K-6? Cut the cost of the teacher by half and double the number?

There are two problems and both need attention. We need to provide enough money and spend it wisely. I think neither is true today.

I am going to vote against 3...though I am not happy about it. Just too badly thought out.

Less educated teachers, to help the poor education system? Did you go to ccsd?

It's not about money, it's rampant incompetence and bureaucracy. The school system does not need more money, it needs someone with a brain to take it over and make things run properly.

It's our Las Vegas vicious circle. We need more intelligent residents to make our education system better. We can't attract more intelligent residents because this city is populated by dummköpfen.

And all ten large school systems are incompetently managed as well as those of CA, AZ, NV and NM? The only one who can do it is the Mormons? But if you live in MA it works fine?

We don't generally use Phds for the lower grades. So we are using less educated teachers now? There is good evidence that masters level teachers don't do any better than Bachelor level teachers though they cost a good bit more. Is there a real base that says you need a bachelors degree to teach K-6?

Washington DC has one of the higher level education levels in the US. But the school system is also the worst in the US. And it is not even one of the big systems. You need a new theory.

Getting back to question 3, is it going after revenue, rather than profit to grab some of the cash that the casinos have been hiding as "resort fees" which presumably would not fall under our states already paltry gaming tax?
