Right. And this town is full of grown-up Eric Cartmans. I cannot think of a worse place for someone who uses the term "crunchy."

I wish I could imbed this video about a hippie infestation from South Park. But I can't. So click the link:

Las Vegas is not in the least bit "crunchy". You should head to Colorado, California, Oregon, or Washington. You might consider Santa Fe NM , very "crunchy".

Virtually any of the RNPs. Similar areas in the Cities. The core RNPs are all county and generally have a diverse population including those of the "crunchy"" persuasion.

The underlying theme is really MYOB. But it works best in the low density RNPs.

You really think anyone but a crunchy would live in a geodesic doom from the 70s? And there are dozens and dozens of weird older homes around.

Since when does "crunchy" mean mind your own business? It's the polar opposite of mind your own business. And Las Vegas is the polar opposite of "crunchy."

I dislike the term, "crunchy" incidentally. Not because granola isn't fantastic -- it is. But because it marginalizes the concepts of "live simply so others can simply live" and "think globally act locally" and all the other ways such people live their lives. I know several people who fit this description. They're all leaving just as soon as they can.

(Las Vegas is the opposite of crunchy. Crunchy people are only welcome if they're spending money at a String Cheese show. And then they need to leave town.)

MYOB? C'mon. This town isn't even BYOB.

The RNPs are about as MYOB as you can get. Amazing how you can live in one and not know that. Crunchy and Mormon is tolerated and tolerates. The Casino executive with his acre and 6,000 SF lives next to the Crunchy with the dome, next to the mormon with 7 kids, And they tolerate each other. Too bad you spend your wiriting skills shooting that down. You should promote it. I think the thing you did that was wrong was where you bought. You got a world class view and not much else. You never got into the battle to keep the developers and their small lot homes out. Then you would have met all sorts of people who apparently slide past you unnoticed.

The fact that Las Vegas is a mind your own business sort of city is exactly the problem. I agree completely that Las Vegas minds its own business. 100% absolutely does. And that's why it isn't a fit for anyone who self-describes as crunchy.

Is it that you think such people just want to be left alone to do drugs or something?

Simply your jaundiced view Scoop. I rode through lots of issues...you MYOB...which may very well align with that of your neighbors on all sorts of issues.

You just have your mind so set that you cannot recognize that MYOB is a pretty good starting point. And generally leads to tolerance and cooperation. But contained...we are not all going to become best buddies but we are going to defend our joint interests.

I agree Scoop...You don't get it. Not even close. But why do you want to broadcast your lack of basic understanding?

Maybe your wife can help. Someone needs to. Going through life blind to the interaction between people is a really sad thing.

You can do better if you work at it.

The mere fact that LV is as massively autocentric as it is, would probably drive someone who considers themself as crunchy crazy.
