I have a tight budget for my next trip to Vegas, and the $32 pool drinks aren't going to cut it. I was planning on buying bottles of alcohol when I get there and am not sure where the best place to buy is? I remember the store in the mall by Planet Hollywood (I can't remember the name...it might have been an ABC) having decent prices, but I'm sure I can do better.

So, I ask, is it cheaper to buy bottles at a Super WalMart or Lee's? Or is there another place cheaper?

Lee or Cosco for bottles depending on what your buying. Total Wine for wine and craft beer.

Trader Joe's can beat all of the above stores, on certain selections.

Trader Joe's is never going to be the low-cost leader on a bottle of Bacardi. But some of their store-brand offerings are equal in quality to the name brands at one half the price.

Trader Joe's sells spirits there? I thought they only sold beer and wine. Is there one by The Strip?

I'm not looking for fancy. Just some vodka to mix with Crystal Light.

rent a car for a day - go off strip into spring valley (make a left at the bellagio onto west flamingo) there is a lee's liquor off w flamingo and rainbow -- you will save more money renting a car and buying there, then buying at ABC or any place near the strip.

Sure if you want to stick to their branded selections. I found most of the craft beer branded under Trader Joe's lacking in my opinion. While Cosco keep changing their brewers each year for the Kirkland brand. Cosco still continue to use breweries with a constant track record of quality.

There's a Lee's on the Strip. Is it priced significantly higher than the others?

Yes. Trader Joe's sells spirits. They have a potato vodka from Austria which is a deal at $10. I don't drink martinis often. But when I do, this is the vodka I usually mix.

But there isn't one near the Strip.

There are a few liquor stores on the strip. And the only thing you can say about them is they are ever-so-slightly less expensive than casino prices.

I found Total Wine to be cheaper for everything I bought compared to Lee's.

Total Wine. Cash prices there are the same as credit. Lee's charges more for credit. There is one in the Boca Park area near Suncoast. We usually get stuff there when we go to also don and it us cheaper than international duty free. Certainly cheaper than some of the higher tax states.
