Oh that brings back bad memories of shoveling last year. I can tell you I do not miss snow one bit. Thought for sure I would be tempted to go up to Mt. Charleston to see it, but last winter's snowfall did me in.

Don't forget it was nearly 70 degrees here a couple of weeks ago.

I remember the Winters of the 1960's and 70's, when we would get a foot of snow followed by a week of sub 20 degree weather and then another snow.

God Bless Global Warming!

No, Shep, you are right.. this is the first major snow of the year... however after years of having to put up with it... I believe the saying goes "stick a fork in me, 'cuz I am done!"

Yes, I know it happens. But very rarely. Hence my point.
You asked what the current weather was, I replied. If you find the NE weather as extreme, why would you want to move to an area of another extreme--the Mojave Desert? If you move here, enjoy the weather.

So, you're a reverse snowbird? Live in each area in the worst of times? NE in winter, Mojave Desert in summer?

I wouldn't call it a reverse snowbird. I've been coming to Vegas for the past 15 years. Actually, I have been in Vegas in the middle of July and August...115 degrees and all of that stuff. And I've been here in NY in the dead of winter. Days worse than today. And the opposite (NY in Summer, Vegas in Winter).

So your point is.......?

LOL... having moved here last summer from the Great White North, our biggest complaint has been the weather. I don't mind it so much, but the minute it started to go below 70, my husband started to complain about how it was TOO COLD here!

No point. Where is your primary residence? NY, or LV? Of course, in a short time period, any weather can be found enjoyable, even the extreme, even though LI is not extreme, while LV is extreme. I just don't see your logic.

I can identify with that scenario. I used to bounce between Tahoe and LV-- used to wear a polo shirt in LV when others wore ski parkas.
