They need more roads over there.
The back way works much better...but it still involves I15 which also sucks at various times. Mostly though you can pop out on to 15 in less than 15 minutes and it is getting better. Just sold one on the west side of Sun City Anthem to a guy who really has to have airport access. And after 6 months he is happy...so it is livable.

Anthem is lovely! But you gotta know these back roads and I've been to Henderson maybe 10 times in almost 20 years.

I would think the trick with any of the South Henderson areas (GVR, Seven Hills, Anthem, McDonald Highlands, etc.) is to have multiple ways out, either to the 15 or 215. I don't even live in the area, and I'v gotten stuck in the Eastern Avenue perma-traffic. But most places can give you at least two routes out. You can check the traffic on Google Maps (or similar) and go out the way that has the least.

I live in Anthem and have various ways. Really not a big deal at all.

Actually it is a big deal. Likely the number one reason people decide against uphill Henderson.

The navigation programs always route you to the back way during normal hours even from the Anthem Country Club. And the back way works pretty well and is rapidly getting better as the construction gets completed. Only problem with the back route is that it lacks any good alternative to I15. And as we all know 15 can be a real problem on occasion.

You guys are funny, there is a thing against Anthem/Seven Hills Area around here. I live in Anthem and I use Eastern all the time. No big deal at all, there are roads more congested in the Vegas area. I am very happy around here and there are multiple ways you can hit I-15, US95 and I-215. Access is not issue at all and actually better than a lot of other places.

One of the realtors I met with had their office on St. Rose Parkway just east of Eastern. Coming from the Orleans I took I-15 to St. Rose and drove east, and it seemed to take a little longer than taking 215 like I normally do. Just wanted to see what it was like. I finished up around 5 pm and traffic in the GVR area was a little congested, but for rush hour it wasn't too terrible.

One thing I have noticed is the stop lights around the Las Vegas area in general take a lot longer than I'm used to. They're sequenced differently for the left turn lanes and last longer on the green (or red). Felt like you were sitting there forever, but more cars did get through on the left turn light.

This is probably one of the things I dislike most about Las Vegas. Whoever is in charge of setting up the timing of stop lights around here is a complete moron. They cause more traffic than they regulate.

Agreed. I live in Seven Hills. Certainly there is more traffic now than during the Great Recession, but it is nowhere close to Silicon Valley or Los Angeles traffic.
