For anyone who know anything about Vegas they know it's only illegal on paper to have hookers in Clark County. The reality of it is they are everywhere. They even advertise! Look through the yellow pages, you think all those girls are really coming to dance for you or to massage you? LOL

It is not illegal just on paper...it is illegal. Does that mean that there are no hookers?... of course not. In fact there are more hookers in Las Vegas per capita then any other US city. So what? You think there are cities with no hookers? You think there are no hookers, no strip clubs, no porno stores in Raleigh NC? Wanna bet?

It is trivial to show that Raleigh in fact has a higher crime rate than Henderson. I use Henderson because it is not possible to isolate Summerlin but I would expect about the same rate.

Are there hookers at the Red Rock Casino? Of course. Are they an obvious problem that needs correcting? No way. I have never come directly across one on my visits there though I am always escorted by a woman who might well pop a prostitute who approached me...she does not share well.

I once heard a fascinating talk by a ranking hotel manager (Marriott) of how to manage prostitution. This was at the hotels in the big cities. The hotel guys don't want to encourage it to the point at which it becomes a problem...nor do they wish to discourage it as it is a required feature by some of their guests. He did fifteen minutes on how to reach a happy medium.

In general then the strip and the hotels are like those elsewhere but there are more of them and they are bigger. But that changes little. My children grew up in LA. I suspect they were in a hotel in LA every year or so. It did not turn them into hookers or drug addicts. Where they exposed to drugs? Of course. The good and bad schools everywhere provide ample opportunity to acquire that which turns you on. Different in Raleigh..bull.

First of all, try reading the message again, genius- I was "winking" about the fact that prostitution being illegal doesn't keep the hookers out of Vegas. Been there, seen them. So before you start throwing the term "jerkoff" around, read carefully and think twice- especially since it'll get you banned from the forum.

And maybe it's you should get out of the house and realize that those same ads you see on craiglist for Vegas are on EVERY craigslist page- you can find outcall services in any town you care to look in.

Lastly, if you'd pay attention, you'd know that I haven't lived in Vegas since 1999- I realized "where I lived" wasn't where I wanted to raise my kids, so I moved back to Jersey.

Ohh, and while I'm at it- good luck in NC- I'm sure you'll fit in well with all of the other rednecks who can't form a full sentence without a wrong or mis-spelled word.

So, if you've got nothing constructive to add to the LV forums, feel free to bop on over to the NC board.

Bob

Yeah, that Ivy League degree really shows through in your command of the English language and in your debating skills.

BTW- if you're so friggin' smart, how is it that you ended up living in Vegas in the first place after "retiring" at 35, and only later realized that there's hookers and gambling there. It seems to me that anyone who spent 4 years at Princeton should have the ability to conduct a little research project on the area they're considering moving to, no? I mean, I only went to NJIT, and even I could figure that much out- it is pretty much common knowledge, you know.....

Unfortunately, I know them all too well- I've worked with quite a few of them over the years, and most of them definitely weren't worth what "mumzy" and "deady" spent on their education.....

I would think 4 years at Princeton would have helped in some punctuation as well. Those are some long sentences. lol

I must agree that North Carolina has some pretty nice areas and nice homes but when you live in a nice area in Vegas your kids won't notice all the stuff that's going on on the strip. In America the first fifteen years of a kid's life is totally dependent on their parents. They have to bring them literally everywhere they go. They take the bus to school. If you make a decent living and live in a nice community there are plenty of opportunities for them to go out and play in parks, bike around etc. (you really don't have to be rich to live in Summerlin, GV, Southern Highlands or any of those). How is your child going to end up in a stripclub? Will you take him there?
