You continue to ignore my point about all of the other businesses which do NOT cater to out-of-town visitors. What is your rationale for why they must remain closed? What is the rationale for locking up those under 55 and those without underlying medical conditions? The data across the United States is crystal clear that their risk is extremely low. If people over 55 and those with underlying conditions are not comfortable with the risks, then they should be the ones who should choose to stay home.
How about the Corona Virus Task Force Head?

And he was Chairman of the Clark County Commission from 2013 until running for Governor. District A even includes a small piece of the south Strip.

Have you followed either of the links you just posted? If you had you would have read

Sisolak appointed former MGM Resorts International chief executive Jim Murren as the leader of the group. The governor says Murren has a deep knowledge of the casino business as well as many other skills.
The only member of the task force listed is a businessman with no medical, scientific or public health experience cited. You also would have read

His biography on the Clark County website notes Sisolak served 10 years on the Nevada Board of Regents, from 1998 to 2008, before his election to the commission.
He earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a master’s in business administration from UNLV.
Again, no medical, scientific or public health experience.

He is a Governor not a medical director.

And he pulled in a known expert of the highest order on the Strip for the committee that will advice him on when it is safe to reopen the Strip. There are lots of other people with other skills including health.

These are executive decisions not medical. Medical is a major part but one of several.

"Sisolak says Nevada is nowhere close to relaxing virus restrictions" (Source:https://lasvegassun.com/news/2020/ap...-restrictions/)

The following from the article is astonishing: "The Democratic governor said in a Tuesday night news conference that he doesn't have specific benchmarks he'd like to see before considering easing closures. He said he will rely on doctors who have been advising him about the pandemic while considering factors such as rates of infection and deaths, the impacts on hospitals and input from business. But he said he didn't want to give anyone the idea that discussions about easing restrictions and reopening are happening anytime soon." Translation: our inept governor apparently have given no thought on how to end the mess he created and will defer to unelected, totally risk-averse medical "experts" who have questionable qualifications with little regard for the concerns of the citizens and business community. I eagerly await his plan to refill the public trough once the $401 million Rainy Day Fund is depleted. One thing is for certain; it will be tough for him to tax his way out of this disaster once the tax base has been decimated.

Perhaps Nevadans should follow the lead of Michiganders since the governor clearly only cares about protecting himself since he appears to be in the highest-risk demographic while continuing to expand his power which it appears he has no plans of giving up anytime soon. Another example of this was the activation of 700 more members of the National Guard. (Source: https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/p...diers-2006610/). I know supposedly the state received money from the federal government, but it really begs the question why we need 700 more National Guard troops let alone planning for a 900-bed field hospital at the Las Vegas Convention Center (Source: https://www.ktnv.com/news/coronaviru...ital-if-needed) given declining case numbers and hospital utilization.
I say if he tries to raise our taxes that we all refuse to pay them. I say keep budgets right where they are or start cutting everything that's not working like Unemployment, Welfare, DPW and Police because I doubt throwing money at them will make the mismanagement any better and it seems we haven't needed them at all since the shutdown. Do these people actually do anything?

As far as Sisolak's pet project goes, I suggest he seek private funding.

May as well close half the publicly funded hospitals as well since they've been closed for weeks so apparently we don't need them, either.

Fire all the health department people who don't know how to make proper projections or publish statistics.

In fact, every department that's closed right now and not operating should probably get the axe with the exception of the courts. If we can go close to 2 months without these services than what's 18 or never?

I think when the assembly reconvenes there needs to be a bill passed requiring every single one of these workers to justify their jobs before reinstatement.

No joke. Not sure if you saw it this morning but Billboard magazine laid off nearly all of its staff this morning. The IT workers vandalized the website and it had to be taken down and restored.

Just the beginning....

I haven't heard much from this task force other than getting some donations. Per the article it states that the job of the task force was to "marshal private resources to help the state fight the coronavirus." I don't really see where they have been tasked with reopening the state's economy or even providing guidance.

In my opinion, a CEO of a publicly traded company is almost the equivalent of a politician. By the way, the timing of his resignation from MGM was quite good. Per CNBC (https://www.cnbc.com/2020/02/12/mgm-...ares-jump.html), “'While the coronavirus will clearly have a near-term impact to MGM China, we remain confident that it will not have a long-term impact on our business,'” the outgoing CEO said on a post-earnings call with analysts." Let's not forget the $32 million exit package he received from MGM either while tens of thousands of rank-and-file employees now find themselves unemployed. I wonder how much of that he has donated to the community or his task force; I fully realize he is under no obligation to do so. However, I think any reasonable person would agree that the optics of his departure and exit package are not good.

As far as Sisolak goes, his biggest "accomplishment" as Chair of the Clark County Commission was to saddle the taxpayers of Clark County with almost $650 million in general obligation bonds for the football stadium which were supposed to be funded by now non-existent room taxes. Thanks to him the taxpayers of Clark County ultimately will have to foot the bill for this public works monstrosity on top of the other financial hardships he has brought down on many of us.

I highly recommend this article, it's primarily about the failure of the relevant institutions involved in this crisis. Be warned though, it's a very lengthy read.... Not like you have anything better to do though, right?

Goodluck to us all who will be dealing with the public for around 8-10 hours daily. With the absence of therapeutics and vaccine it will be worrisome to go back to work. Need the antibody testing and more Covid19 testing for all of us. Just imagine the visitors both domestic and international who will be visiting Clark County, NV once we reopen. Whether you get sick or not, just hope that you make it alive! Nearly 30,000 deaths in just a few short months, yes that is worrisome.

Sheesh, you and just about everyone else has fallen for the government lies.
You are no more likely to die of CV19 than the common flu.
But carry on in your bubble of self-inflicted torment.
