Hello, my boyfriend and I visited Vegas from 2/25-3/1. We stayed at the Luxor hotel. I had such a great time. I'm planning my next trip there because we didn't get a chance to get to the other end of the strip. There are so much to do and see. In every hotel there is something to do. Ceasar's was as far as we got. I loved it so much i was like i wanna move here but.... i realized there is difinetely a difference in culture. I'm from Atlanta and when i was in Vegas i wanted something simple like sweet tea. NO ONE had already made sweet tea. My first experience was McDonalds. McDonalds here is famous for their sweet tea. The McDonalds in my hotel gave me tea but it wasn't sweet. I spit the tea across the restuarant. I was like WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!?! This happend like three times but at different restaurants. When i asked for sweet tea they gave me unsweeten tea. They told me that didn't have it but i was thinking ok they must be out of sugar. I finally had to ask a guy out on the streets who is from Vegas. He gave me a rude awakening. He said "Baby you are not in the south anymore". I LOVE VEGAS but that is something for me to think about. Especially since i'm talking about moving there. The weather is WONDERFUL.

Closest we have [I think] is Memphis BBQ....they have delicious "Sweet Apple Tea"

I don't get it. You take unsweetened iced tea, add a couple of packets of sugar that are sitting in some little sugar holder at your table, and stir....sweet tea, no?

PS...just because you had a great time in LV on vacation is NOT a reason to want to move there. LV is a real city....complete with real city problems, just like Atlanta. The residential Vegas (ie, real life)...is nothing like the tourist Vegas (ie, make-believe).

When I lived in Guam, the McDonalds there served portugese sausage and fried rice for breakfast since it is a local favorite. But I wouldn't expect the McDonalds here to do the same. Why would you expect a regional favorite such as sweet tea to be available anywhere? Unless you've never traveled out of the south and don't realize that it's a regional thing. As for hoping to move to Vegas based on a week spent at the Luxor, I would second jfk's remarks.

If you truly live for sweet tea then wouldn't venture any further west than Dallas. My daughter was a nanny in Florida for a while and she misses real sweet tea from McDonalds.

Arizona Ice Tea makes a fantastic Sweet Tea. My wife is from Alabama, she always is loking for Sweet Tea. I know that "Raising Canes" has sweet tea. The one by the Beltz Outlet (excuse me the Las Vegas Outlets) has it.

JFK, I used to think the same way. Add sugar = sweet tea. Just not the same it makes Tea sweeter, but it does not make sweet tea. There is just something about the way its made (my opinion) I didn't realize it until my trip to Alabama a few years ago.

mcdonalds sweet tea is awesome, i looked in vegas also but could not find it.. did you know that mcdonalds puts 5 POUNDS of sugar for every 4 gallons of sweet tea.. and no jfk, you dont just add sugar to unsweetened tea to make it.. the best sweet tea is in the south.. georgia, carolinas, etc...

You can find sweet tea in Las Vegas but you have to know where to look. Most people outside of the south don't even know what it is. And it isn't just iced tea with a packet of sugar added. Memphis Barbecue makes really good sweet tea, and you can get a gallon to take home with you. When the jug is empty, take it back for a refill. Refills are a dollar less when you return with the (plastic) jug. As good as Memphis BB-Q sweet tea is, TC's Rib Crib's is even better. I started making my own. I was using Liptons but finally found Luzianne at Smith's.

But, you can't be serious about lack of a regional drink keeping you from moving somewhere anymore than you could be serious about wanting to move there because you enjoyed one short vacation. Come back and visit a few more times and get to know the city itself away from the Strip. The Strip is our main industry, and it is to Las Vegas as steelmills are (actually, were) to Pittsburgh. Would you move to Pittsburgh because you liked the steelmills?
