Stopped in there for a bit last night. Had to turn the football cards in. I
have obviously been there before for that reason.

At any rate, am I the only one that thinks their service is the worst I have ever dealt with? The sports bar bartenders are horrible!! They always are. This was not just a bad night for them. You would think with the economy the way it is and could become, they would be jumping on a new customer for the tip. Beer was 2 bucks, not bad at all. Over at the bar where the entertainment was it was 5 bucks!!

Forget trying to get a waitress to serve you if you playing a slot machine.

And the place was empty too. I think I would be all over ANYONE that was sitting down.

Oh well, just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience there or if it is just me?

I've only been there once and I was left unimpressed as well; however, I've seen the same in the other Station Casinos as well recently. We had dinner the other night at Santa Fe (in the Grand Cafe after 5 p.m.) and the place was a ghost town, plenty of open tables and was able to sit right down.

On the other hand which I'm sure is related to it just opening, we went to Aliante last Saturday night and while I played roulette the drinks kept coming to me and the women sitting next to me.

It's been a couple of years since I have stayed there. Back then, staff was only attentive to you IF they thought you have money. I think having a TV show shot there made them all "big in the head." When I have friends/family come to visit, I NEVER recommend them staying at GVR.

never any parking at gvr, south point is better and has bowling too and doesn't have that "we think we're upscale even though we're not" attitude

Funny how some service orientated people "get it" with what is currently going on and others still think they are just still "entitled to it" because of where they work.

A good indication of where to go in the first place.

I gamble a lot at GVR (enough to earn room comps). The service SUCKS bad, and I tip well. One night I was there at a blackjack table and the roulette dealer turns around and says to the Black jack dealer "This must be Ar****'s section tonight" No one had seen the cocktail waitress for at least an hour.

I asked the dealer in a nice way, i said "Ok, so I am not complaining, but the service here sucks, its a known fact, even you guys joke about it, why do they put up with it" He said that its all about who you know and how entitled you feel about your job.

Apparently most of the cocktail waitresses are in really good with upper management.

The dealer indicated that change might be coming, but it will start at the top, not with the waitresses.

Go to Sunset Station, tip $2 per drink, and the waitresses will flock to you, bringing you a drink before you even sit down.

I'd be all all over that place serving anyone who wanted a drink with a BIG smile. Too bad nobody will even give me a chance. This town has their priorities a little messed up. IMO

I remember that show, I used to watch it when I lived back home. When, I moved out to Vegas that was one of the places I wanted to see in a hurry!! I looked so great on TV!!
Sadly disappointed when I got there....I guess sometimes its just better on TV....LOL
I did go drink at Wiskey Petes, I think thats what its called....It was terrible, It was a tiny
little club and too many drunk kids.
