Hi , I am looking at a apartment complex in this area and being a newby to Vegas dont know if its safe to live in. I would be thankful for any input you have. Please and Thanks. Also does anyone have any input on the best casino to work for. Here is the apartment address:From Las Vegas Blvd. Head East on Sahara Ave., turn right on to Paradise Rd. Turn left onto Sierra Vista Drive, about 2 block down Sierra Vista Drive, Apartments will be located on your right.

No, I would not live in any apartments off of Paradise. Unless you are living in a very expensive condo near the strip avoid any apartments near there. They are not good, the area is not good. As olecapt said, high crime area!

Default I wouldn't

I live relatively close to there and I don't drive through there for a reason. Take it for what it is worth.

Well, wow! Thanks for the heads up, much appreciated. Any suggestions for a safe area not to far from the strip by bus? Thanks

yes, pretty much anything east of Maryland and south of Desert Inn, and I believe olecapt said something about good apartments off of Decatur and Tropicana or Flamingo

My Son In Law is in the Air Force and being relocated to Nellis, is North Las Vegas a good area for them to set up house?

mainly if it is north of Craig and some parts of Alexander/Gowan, it is safe enough. Craig is one of the biggest areas of shopping in town and has a lot of restaurants.

We once thought we were going to move to Vegas, and my friend that had lived there before say to stay away from North Las Vegas, that it was like the ghetto of Vegas and you'd get shot. LOL. But that's all I know, I'm not a native.
