Went to the Kid Rock concert on Fremont last night. What a blast! It was mobbed but we had VIP passes so that helped. I can't believe the D went to the extent they did for it. Of course the rooms were $900. And the suites were $1800! That was how you got the VIP passes. We didn't have a room, we just had "juice".

$900 downtown? Are they even that much on New Years Eve?

Probably not. It was only the D, it was their second Grand Opening. Supposedly the only way to get the VIP tix to Kid Rock on Sat. They did the same thing on Thursday for Uncle Kracker and Friday for Stone Temple Pilots but those rooms were a little cheaper. Still gouging, IMO. But, hey, worked out for me and I had a blast!

Went for a hike on Mt Charleston today. Visitor center closed, bathrooms closed, some trails were closed, some open. I'm not sure if the trails were closed due to the govt junk or the wildfire. Tons of people up there, though. Some of the trees are changing, it was beautiful.

I wanted to go to that, but when I saw the prices I nearly soiled myself. $800 bucks to stay at the old Fitzgerald with a fresh coat of paint and some new carpet? No way!

$800 holy crap. You could get a suit in the Nugget on the weekend and still have some change left over.

They were $900. But the concert was free...you just had to stand outside the barriers. I went up to the $1800. Suite, it was very nice but not $1800. Nice, IMO. All the rooms and hallways are redone, very nicely, but still.
