The closest I'm ever going to get is Las Vegas. Probably at a casino.

Did I win?

Nice picture!

He’s a great photographer. Some of us missed our calling. ( in terms of livelihood )

Clarkcty is also a good photographer, and provides interesting insights on Spring Valley, as well as food and stuff on the strip.

This thread got me wondering what it is like to live in Vegas. I'm guessing long time residents will say it was better in the past. I had a work assignment there in '06. One middle-aged woman said she doesn't go to the strip much, except when someone is visiting her.

Yep, I've tried most of the food recommendations, and they've been spot on...

A lot of locals don't go there much unless they work there. We go for shows we find on House Seats. Other than that - nope.

Same. Born and raised here in Las Vegas, hardly ever go down on the strip. I know northwest to southwest like the back of my hand, though!

We meet visiting friends on The Strip, usually at their hotel or a relatively quiet bar so we can catch up. Wife and friends stay at a Strip hotel after the RnR Marathon. Take family to visit various attractions. We are there probably once a month. Shows, dining, major music acts, and NHL hockey pull a few locals on a higher frequency than "never"; there are plenty of activities outside the tourist corridor, but The Strip is a great place to visit, even as a valley resident.

This is so true. Las Vegans don’t like to even CROSS the strip if we can help it. We stay on our own sides of the dividing line.

Agreed. Although I did go down to Fremont and see the Neon Museum recently and enjoyed seeing all the bright signs from Las Vegas' past. Pretty neat down there.
