the whole thing is depressing. i have a completely different outlook, this has been extremely hard on me, choosing to walk away is an internal struggle and has been for months for me, and i have yet to make a decision. I bought my house young... so proud of myself, put down 20% on the house, 50K (35 of my own money and 15K borrowed from my parents)... id been saving since I was 16 to buy a house... then the economy tanked, i lost a job, meaning half my income... and my house value plummeted... bought it at 233K... mortgage is now still 183... and it's worth under 100K...

I figured the only reason I would leave would be if I left the area, considering that I have to for a job, that would be my only choice, as it would not rent anywhere near the amount that my mortgage is.

It's heartbreaking. especially knowing that $50,000 is GONE, and i still owe my parents 15K.

i wish i'd been smarter 3 years ago!!!

And why does the rest of society have to take it up the you know where because you made a mistake?

Integrity doesn't seem to matter to people any longer. So why not go ahead an leverage your mistake? After all, whats good for corporate America has to be good for the individual too, right?

Honk if I'm paying your mortgage!

I drove by there a few weeks ago and Chumlee was having his picture taken with a couple on the sidewalk.

Great show, I've got to check out the store one day.

I was perusing the on demand selections on our TV over the weekend and came across this show which I had never seen. My wife & I watched about 7-8 episodes back-to-back. And then we watched a couple more on the History Channel last night.

We definitely have to check that place out when we get to town next month.
I play poker with a guy who was on there ... anyone remember the guy with the signature quilt who wanted $50,000? A bunch of patches with signatures from famous people, sewn together into a quilt ... of course they didn't make a deal since they didn't want to dump a bunch of money into it. As you might guess, they contact people in advance about items they want to sell, then script their arrival into the store ... which is quite small, apparently.

He said it's the most popular show on the history channel, 5 million (!) people watch it every week. He also said they tweak it for TV, i.e. ChumLee's not the idiot they make him out to be (I'd hope not, or I wouldn't hire him). The old man is great; Buzz, you sure that's not you in an alternate reality?

At this point, I'm sure they get so much tourist traffic & revenue from the TV show that they hardly need to be profitable on their own merits.

Freedom to make personal choices means freedom to make stupid mistakes. Or are you telling us you fall into that category of "Too stupid to be allowed to make your own choices", and need to be protected from yourself?

well just remember if you short sale, you must divulge all of your assets and their locations.. they have 6 years to come after you.. and if you have anything now or within 6 yrs, their coming for you.

if you foreclose, you can get a 1099 which is income and you have to pay tax on and bankruptcy doesnt forgive a tax lien.. they also have 6 months to come after you..

some banks are forgiving the deficiencies, but if you have anything, this isnt going to happen!

besides according to zillow, props in vegas are steady or rising.
