We'll do this again, but it'll always be on a Friday. Can't beat the $1 drinks at Bill's!

Since I don't live in Vegas, I generally skip this thread...just viewed, and some interesting observations by Davie...so I thought I'd join in the conversation for a bit!

I noticed most of the West Coast is like that...it is refreshing.

I never 'got' hip-hop...but it does seem much more prevalent eastward.

In Orlando it was different, where whites are now the minority (only barely, 49.9% of the population still the largest racial group though), there is a lot of reverse racism towards whites. My group of friends back there is pretty colorful ethnically speaking, and Orlando is a pretty tolerant place, its a lot of the older folks that still have racist feelings. I actually notice not too many white people have prejudice towards others, if they do, they do a great job of hiding it. A lot of ethnic folks I knew back east (who were over 50) openly expressed their dislike towards whites, it was sad really
I have noticed that...in general...NORTHERN STATES are much more segregated than SOUTHERN STATES. I am always surprised whenever I've driven through the south, and frequently see a black guy and white guy walking down the street talking, etc. You just don't see that in most northern states, particularly not in Michigan where I grew up.

I would like to contradict that statement with when I lived in New York City though. NYC seemed to be a lot like how you describe Orlando. White was the minority, and not always all that popular. If you were white there, I doubt you'd be functioning very well there if you had any racism at all in your body. That being said, NYC has much less 'ghetto culture' than I'd assume Orlando might have. So much culture, intellectualism, etc., so that there always seemed to be quite a few open-minded people who quickly overlooked minor things like race, etc.

The HALIBUT FISH is amazing at Burgerville...I will never forget the taste of that...and unbelievably served at a fastfood restaurant with such a bland generic name as Burgerville...

(I think Burgerville ONLY exists in PDX and vicinity - would love if they had a franchise in Nevada!)

While not cheap, Burgerville is very good for fast food. Right now they have their fresh strawberry shakes. The best! I'm getting hungry.

Want me to bring you some spread?
