How about Tropicana between Paradise and the strip, or Paradise itself when there is any kind of convention in town. Sahara between Valley View and the strip. Or Las Vegas Blvd north of the strip Blue Diamond road between the strip and Durango...See a pattern here? Basically, if you stay away from the strip or any street where there is construction, there isn't that much traffic in this town. Of course, by including any street where there is construction, I've included most of Las Vegas!

One of the most congested areas and most dangerous for auto accidents is on Charleston from Nellis to Lamb. It's extremely congested over there. Lots of auto accidents.

Charleston is also congested from Eastern to Fort Apache...You just need to use minor streets, like Mohave, Twain, Spencer, Bruce, Alta, Oakey, St. Louis, Torrey Pines, etc, streets that don't always go through, but they also are never congested...I have never had a problem on Paradise, except when there are lane closures...Pecos usually isn't congested north of Flamingo, Eastern is very congested...

So east and west Charleston is the worst then I take it
North and south Paradise?
I have two more questions. How is Decatur and what is the busiest non-strip intersection?

When I left in 1999, Decatur wasn't horrible, but it was usually pretty busy. Rainbow was much worse by far- especially from around Sahara to Lake Mead.

I'd rate the Sahara/Rainbow and Charleston/Rainbow intersections as being some of the busist at that time- especially during rush hours.

I think you are probably a little dated. I believe the highest volume intersection on the west side is Decatur Sahara.

In general I use Bussalo and Rainbow to go north and south when 95 doesn't work. I then go east and west on the arterials....Sahara, DI Trop...all of which flow until you get close to the strip. In the rush it sometimes pays to drop to the east/west semi-sections Oakey, Twain, Alta.

As to the freeways 215 jams in the morning at 15. 21`5 jams badly in the evening at the at grade lights at far hills and summerlin pkwy. The Rainbow curve on 95 is quite tough in the morning...basically the merge of the Summerlin Pkwy traffic. That is all going to get a lot better late this year.

Decatur isn't that bad south of Sahara, but north of it, especially around Faircenter Parkway it gets really congested.
