I just spent some time in silicon valley and it is incredible how many Indians exist. Three firms I visited looked like little Pakistans. Can't believe that these companies can't find American workers to fill these jobs. What the hell is going on?
I'd like to see the H-1B visa program severely curtailed and most of these workers told to go back home. It's obvious they are displacing a tremendous number of American workers.
What are your thoughts on the H-1B Visa program and its possible effect on the unemployment figures and the economy?
Every politician within sniffing distance of the oval office (including obama the traitor) or any house Senate seat is bought and paid for when it comes to H1B Visas. They have the Department of Labor in their pocket and thats all it takes to make toothless laws and refuse to enforce them. The skank congresswoman form San Jose is the ring leader in this diobolic plot to prepetuate the lie that we dont have the talent to fill these lucrative professional positions. But simple economics indicates that wages in the tech fields are dropping and that can only happen when there is more supply (of workers) than demand. At the same time US high school students look at the field and the mess greedy corporate America including the most evil and dastardly skunk in this whole mess, Bill Gates, have made of it and they choose other diciplines and our Science and tech programs suffer. So our colleges are full of Indian and Chinese students whos jobs and H1b visa is waiting for them as they graduate and fill these positions at 1/2 to a 1/3 the competetive wage. They all work slave hours and live in housing 8 to a home and send all their earning back to Bombay They are basically stealing the entire tech industry from hardworking Americans who paid big money to get degrees inComputer Science only to be manipulated and conned out of their jobs by a bunch of scum bag lawyers and rich askholes. The following is a video detaling how they screw the American IT worker by figuring out a way to not hire him. Really freakin dispicable stuff

Couldnt agree with you more, include illegal aliens with that. Imagine how many jobs and what the economy would be like without both..

You guys have no idea what an H1-B visa is do you? If there were people here who had the skills for those positions there would not be a need for H1-B. Those people are almost always quant analysts with heavy financial modeling experience. Do any of you or any of your friends have this ability? If not, them maybe you should just shut up about complaining about H1-B until you do more research.
Companies that sponsor H1-B workers are now few and far between except in the tech sector who require specific abilities and knowledge and you do know that the government only allows a certain number of H1-B visas per year right?
Overall, the H1-B program does not affect unemployment figures at all in this country because employers are required to try to find US citizens who have the skills/experience/abilities for those positions FIRST before considering and H1-B candidate. Plus, H1-B candidates cost the employers much more than if they hired US citizen for the position.

Your bolded statement simply confirms the greed of the overpaid CEO's. Maybe we would have more 'local talent' studying for said careers if they were paid appropriately upon being hired.

Sorry, I wasnt clear in my earlier post. The employee salaries are the same, its the additional costs to the employer is what makes it much more expensive overall for H1-Bs. The employer attorney costs, the relocation costs, sometimes the employer even has to be the employees attorneys fees as well. So overall, because there arent enough potential employees here, the companies have to pay additional fees (legal, housing, etc.) for H1-Bs.

Don´t worry... is of no use. No matter how people land on the USA, they shouldn´t be there (as you can see from the comments on this forum). If they are legal citizens, surely they are product of chain sponsorship or an anchor baby. If they have a H1B, someone is bribbing their way in.... etc. Some of these "brilliant" immigration opposers doesn´t know how much hiring a qualified person cost. I have a cousin whose boss invest (I´m not saying "spent") $13K Us and a lot of paperwork to take him to the USA and now he is earning over $70k a year. I bet that if there was an American with the needed profile in the USA, my cousin will be in Mexico today.
Thankfully not everyone in the USA thinks as some of the members of this forum.
So much for the overused "As long as they are here legally".
Cheers
