I'm planning a shoulder surgery in Lexington and will have my family with me. Wife and three kids ages 6, 4 and 2.

I will need to most likely sleep in a comfortable recliner rather than a bed.

Must stay at least 5 days but may make it a family vacation and stay up to two weeks (still deciding).

The facility has a rate agreement with a Crowne Plaza but the reviews are not great online and for a family the rooms look a bit tight.

We're kicking around finding a vacation home to rent but it would be nice to have some hotel/resort like comforts (room service, etc.).

A bed and breakfast? But they don't usually like young kids. Too many valuable to be broken by active little ones.

Just kicking this around and wondering if there any hotels/resorts that would be worth considering?

Thanks.

Several motels which cater to business travelers have suites which include a kitchen area and a living room, plus a separate bedroom. I'd suggest finding one of these places which includes a bedroom with a door that can be shut, so you can rest undisturbed by your no doubt sweet but still very young children during your convalescence. If you can find a place with two bathrooms, that would also be a plus.

Most such places include the word "suites" in their names. Fairfield Inn and Suites comes to mind, though their bedroom areas are not particularly private...I think some of the larger downtown hotels have similar arrangements.

You might try University Inn downtown. I have stayed there several times with the sick in my family. Close to all the hospitals and a very well maintained place. Sorry, I don't have the number.

Good luck!!!
