The video was circulating around Facebook but authorities warned everyone who had the video to take it down, though i'm sure it's still around.

Now this is what "events" on facebook are for. Can you imagine getting an invite to this facebook event. Hilarious. Oh I mean, what idiocy by mom to bring her in the first place.

BTW, article leads one to believe the video was removed from both FB and YT.

Default Update

For those who can get into regular Newsday, there is a (very blurry) video of the fight, plus there is another video about the story that shows the woman (complete with horrible eye makeup in garish detail) which has a segment of her lawyer talking. Of course the lawyer is claiming the mother was "jumped from behind" and "defended herself" and is also blaming the school district for the incident (the mother complained about her daughter being bullied in school and the principal ignored her).

I saw the video on Fox News. Apparently this story is getting national attention.

This Mom is a dumbass without question but be careful judging. On LI we are INSTRUCTED to call the cops for everything and NOT TO defend your home or you will become liable ("don't even bother with an alarm, it will just get you fined"). DON'T bully or be bullied in school, you will face consequences. However, in reality when you call the cops, they take a few notes and say "nothing we can do" and when you report a problem to the school, they fall back on "we had the mandated anti-bullying program, what more can we do?!" We are lulled into a sense of dependance on institutions who cannot really protect us and are deathly afraid of litigation. Familiarize yourself with the law (civil AND criminal) and protect yourself and family as best you can. No one else will, no matter who you elect or how much you pay in taxes.

Hate to be a naysayer but there may be more to this and the mom may not be as 'in the wrong' as it first appears. Keep in mind that all the witnesses seem to have been enemies of her daughter - if I am getting the story straight. This is not to say the initial reports are always wrong but....

She took her daughter to engage in a physical fight with another girl. Even if she "was attacked first" by the 12 year old as she claims, is that something a responsible parent does?

Even if she "was attacked first" by the 12 year old as she claims, she was clearly screaming and egging her daughter on to attack the other girl during the fight. Is that something a responsible parent does?

There was video.
