Is this old news? New news? Have you heard about this (and what do you think)? And what are the odds that this will actually be built?
Huntington Town Board is very much against this and the residents of Elwood are quite vocal in their opposition. Personally, I think that it would be a good thing, but my opinion is that it will never be built.

I think it's a dead issue. We'll probably end up with a bunch of big box stores. You just can't have enough of them along Jericho Turnpike.
Well they absolutely need to spruce that area up a bit...and I certainly do not approve of the xxx related things along Jericho. But that is a whole other issue.

That can't be anywhere Main Street in HV , can it? Why would they say Main Street in Elwood? Where is that ? Is that the space that there were protests against for the past twenty five years? (I think it's on Pulaski and Elwood???)

No not Main st. in Huntington. I get the impression they want to build a Main St within this new village they are proposing, that's all.

They are talking about Main Street in Elwood, because they want to build a "smart use" community which would include a new Main Street. The land is located on Jericho Turnpike east of Manor Road.
The land on Pulaski and Elwood is the parcel where they want to build affordable housing. The neighborhood fought this for literally decades, but it looks like it is finally going to go through. They are currently making plans to widen the roads and put in turn lanes. I think construction will start in the next year or two.

It is absolutely going to be built. What is not going to be built is the Orchard Park developement. They are two completely different things.
