No, Canada stopped making one cent coins, as they cost more than that to produce. In Canada, cash retail transactions are now rounded up or down, to the nearest 5 cent point. Credit card transactions and debit cards are still to the exact price.

About 25 years ago, we did away with the one dollar bill, and replaced it with a one dollar coin, which lasts indefinitely, compared to a paper bill. We also have two dollar coins. The new series of Canadian currency bills are made of a polymer plastic, that is much more durable and will not tear, or fall apart if they get wet.

Canada's Royal Mint also produces 100 percent gold coins, as an investment item. The Maple Leaf coin is available from the Royal Mint in Ottawa, as are many other types of collector coins, including solid silver coins with Swarofsky crystals in them. The RM has a world wide patent on multi colour coins, and laser etched coins., as well.

A mile a minute would be 60MPH-- stay alive, drive 55 is his motto (in the left hand lane)
