Why? So we can change it in August to increase the aggravation?
That's what I am sweating. We have several flights in August. Praying not to have to drive/use car service to JFK

It's not only the state government throwing LI under a bus. Nimbies come out in full force anytime there's a plan to increase capacity by making changes. Local pols pander to LI'ers' fear of "the city" and run on an oppose! oppose! platform. Kate Murray blocking the Lighthouse project is an example of this pander-monium.

There are several known phrases they use to stop improvements by stoking fear of the city:

Section 8
Too much traffic
No apartments near rail lines
People from Brooklyn & Queens
Trains already too crowded
Fix the signal problems first
They want to make LI a freight hub
Cuomo's running for president
We are not the city
LI is for single family homes only

And so on. Without a functional LIRR LI's economy will be on life support. People just don't get that everything must be done to improve and support transit to NYC.

Some LIRR commuters would assert that they are entitled to best in class mass transit regardless of the state of commercial activity in their neighborhoods.

Got a message they LIRR is offering an average of 25% off normal ticket price depending on your transfer point.

In a few months they'll be rattling the tin cup or a fake hike to make up for this discounting.

From what I've read, LIRR is sending an invoice to Amtrak for them to cover the losses.

So what stops me to change my monthly from Garden City -> Penn to Garden City -> Atlantic Term and go to Penn Station anyway. It's the same zone.

Default July/August 2017 schedule and no Woodside

stop on Ronko line.

So MTA spending billions to set up Grand Central Station for LIRR.

Yet only three trains from RONKO going west are stopping in Woodside.

Come on, if you spend billions to build a station wouldn't you think that some type of analysis indicates
that customers are wanting to get to eastside.

YET in the coming disaster no provision made for us.

Einsteins they're not.

A ticket collector checking after Jamaica would probably charge an extra fee. If he isn't lazy.
