I don’t understand what the problem is? Bad misfortune?.....Why? because people chose to live in one of the most expensive parts of the USA? Post after post, forum after forum it’s the same ole thing.....people complaining about LI taxes. We all have choices.
What NY State doesn't have that many of the southern states have are major military bases which pump hundreds of millions, if not billions of tax dollars and revenue from businesses surrounding the bases.
Not sure what your point is but California has more military bases than any state and they have the same ridiculous taxes NY has. If not worse taxes!

I’m very amused that someone didn’t see this coming or give a crap about what they paid in local and state taxes. Surprise, all those teacher and cop salaries come at a price, as do those great city and state retirement plans, and those local town and county politicians who somehow keep getting re-elected. Hey why not give free healthcare and college too.
It sucks when you can’t write down your Federal taxes and the clowns you elect don’t care about lowering your state or county taxes.
