From the New York Post:

"Authorities dealt a staggering blow to the murderous MS-13 gang — busting 96 members and associates in the largest takedown of the notorious criminal group in New York state history, prosecutors announced Friday.

"The busts — the result of a nearly two-year federal wiretapping investigation — essentially wiped out MS-13 on Long Island, according to law enforcement sources."

Hmm, so what were the SCPD/NCPD doing for the last 25 years? Pete King, I'm talkin' to you?! You did backflips over the fear of the Taliban swimming across the Atlantic with IED's in their teeth while MS-13 was dumping dead teenagers in your Massapequa preserve. And if you think MS13 is wiped out, I have a bridge named after a Cuomo to sell you.

There are more than 96 on LI, and I’m sure they can recruit more...

Under Trump I believe ms13 has been hit the hardest. Without a doubt. I have no idea what the cops were doing before this because these gangs have been here for years. Under Trump the feds are going hardcore on these thugs.

Ahh, the Trumpy #fakenews never ceases. Double the deportations under Obama. In fact, the reason Trump is having trouble is because of the blowback from Obama's "secure communities" initiative which checked fingerprints and plucked illegals directly out of jails to deport. THAT is how you get rid of MS-13. You just decide to actually do it. Trump is a blowhard. Big mouth, little hands and brain.

Illegals are a local issue. The reason the SCPD, NCPD and Pete King's did nothing is (here we go again)... C.H.E.A.P. L.A.B.O.R.

MS13 is cyclic, they were hit hard in the mid 2000’s too and crime and gang activity dropped for years then obama was elected and he axed secure communities under activist pressure and began the “prosecutorial discretion” memo saying ICE could only arrest hardened convicted criminals, throw in a migrant crisis where any unaccompanied “minor” could stay in the US and MS13 came back big time. If we slack off again MS13 will grow again simple as that.

The Obama deportation numbers have been widely debunked as he manipulated the numbers to included border apprehensions as “deportations” to boost his numbers to try to get the GOP to buy into immigration reform bill. Under Obama interior enforcement actually dropped.

I’m no fan of King but as we discussed before Brentwood wasn’t even in his district until 7 or 8 years ago when he was Gerrymandered. And I agree he’s 100% cheap labor GOP has zero desire to really enforce immigration law.

Voluntary self-deportations were included in previous administration numbers - not just Obama’s.

They were included but rarely combined as a whole counting Border VR’s as “deportations” (they are not legally), it was unfair to call him “deported in chief”

Over the course of the Obama administration there was a pronounced shift in focus to the removal of recent border crossers and criminals rather than ordinary status violators apprehended in the U.S. interior. The underlying reasoning was to deter illegal border crossing and remove unauthorized immigrants before they become integrated into U.S. communities. As shown in Figure 1, interior removals decreased sharply from 181,798 in FY 2009 to 65,332 in FY 2016, while border removals stayed high and increased, from 207,525 to 279,022 over the same period.

Under trump interior removals and arrests have increased.
