You laughed when I said we need to make more babies OR import labor. China is making more babies to meet its labor shortage.

One day you’ll get past the midwit take and realize that birth rates have declined BECAUSE we’ve been chasing GDP for decades, thereby making it prohibitively expensive to have lots of kids early in life. Can’t have dad working a 9-5 with good pay and benefits and mom staying home with the children when those jobs were shipped to the third world to increase GDP. Can’t afford a house in a district with good schools because the working class towns are now filled with unemployed minorities, the first victim of replacing unskilled labor with third world peasants.

Wow, stuck in the 50's much? So we agree again. And yet, still a labor shortage. All over the news. We ARE the new 3rd world country. We shipped off the jobs, now what? Keep importing "illegal" labor or correct our trickle down stupidity and put the middle class engine to work? Oh wait, that engine is now in Malaysia.

Just because china has raised its insane law limiting the amount of children one can have doesn't mean it will actually work and people will start having more kids there, in fact its more likely it won't. Russia and Germany are 2 examples of countries that have offered incentives and even money for having more kids but its had little impact.

China has been managing this for decades. They dropped it to 1 child when overpopulated and no work and it worked. They raised it to two, it worked. Now they are the manufacturing engine of the world with an aging population so they are upping it again. China may be a dirtbag fascist country, but that doesn't mean they don't know what they're doing. It's much more difficult for a democracy to make those moves, but we used to at least UNDERSTAND how things worked and worked sort of TOGETHER for the common good. Now we just bluster all over social media like social civil warring retards, sounding dumber by the day about every possible topic, while Asia eats our lunch, one from column A one from column B, no substitutions.

The one child policy has been widely regarded as a dismal failure.

And the 2 child policy didn't change much.

This won't either

Since you are cherry picking out of context, and linking to NPR of all sources, how does their "didn't change much" policy (which actually not only changed things, but made them the #1 manufacturing power in the world) compare to our "let's squabble over illegals and min wage" while we outsource trillions in production to the cheapest labor? Every developed country needs a ROBUST labor force. Doesn't matter whether you breed it, buy it (legal immigration) or rent it (illegal immigration). It's all good, while they breed a 3rd kid into a waiting job, we'll breed a post Roe v Wade kid into a waiting prison cell.

Cherry picking? i'm merely showing you that these policies didn't make a lick of difference nor did they work, And yes I specifically picked a left wing source like NPR because any "fox news" type source i know would be immediately discarded. Plenty of other articles on this subject if you do a google search. You can't force families to have children (even china) when there are so many factors against it right now, and immigration will only go so far because even immigrant birth rates are plummeting. This its a universal issue now it's not just "whites aren't having kids anymore".

The 2 child policy is failing because it came too late. The distribution of male and females was altered due to the 1 child policy and has handicapped China.

One child policy meant, they kept all the boys and shipped off the females. Or they eventually migrated to another country that would allow for more then one child. Consequently, there is not enough females in the childbearing age. Secondary to that, China has also transitioned towards more education. Females now pursue a career prior to marrying and bearing a child/ren.

It is more of a wait and see, to truly understand if the policy really failed, but monstermagnet is correct, China anticipated going through what Japan is going through now and needs a labor pool to support their society.
