It is illegal for a NY resident to walk into a store in GA (or any other state) and walk out with a handgun. This is federal law. The only way to purchase a handgun in another state is to have it shipped to a FFL in NY.
It takes all of 2 seconds to look this up on your own. You need to stop listening to the political BS.
Go ahead and try to buy a handgun in a GA shop. They won't sell it to you. If they do, the shop and you will be guilty of violating federal law.
Rather than quote a sensationalized news outlet, how about the ATF (the federal agency tasked with enforcing these interstate issues).
I was not referring to NYS residents, the illegal guns coming into NY are being purchased and trafficked by residents from other states with weak laws. I am glad NY has more severe restrictions.
How exactly is the ATF supposed to enforce guns coming up I95, stop and search cars.

It's not the law-abiding gun owners who are the problem, it's the laws that allow the gun industry to sell guns to straw buyers, and the guns end up in the hands of gangs and mentally unstable people who endanger the rest of us.
We can do better. The gun industry needs to pay for the consequences of foreseeable violent acts. Straw buyers need to be punished severely. Regulation of gun sales is a necessary evil, and shouldn't have a major impact on someone who wants to lawfully keep a firearm for protection against the criminals.

By all accounts the .223 is not A major caliber . The AR pattern Rifles are popular because they Have little recoil, light weight and offer decent protection . It is not in the same class the .243 or .273.
The Vegas shooter was able to Murder so many because of his vantage point , amount of Firearms and Ammo and Number of Rounds fired.

You bring up a good point. While straw buyers have almost nothing to do with the school shooters over the last 15 years, they may play a part in the far more numerous day to day shootings we are seeing on our city streets.

This thread is now a bit hilarious considering what just came out of the Supreme Court.
I'd love to see the NY Rifle and Pistol Club follow up on it's huge win, by filing a case to eliminate wholesale the entire gun control scheme of the State (and City) of NY on the basis that it violates the legal methodology put in place by the SCOTUS in the Bruan case precedent.

Bring back capital punishment, you know, the death penalty. Only do it chinese style. As in if you're caught red-handed in the act, you're shot immediately. No trial, no appeals for decades. They put you on your knees and shoot you. No street cred. No glory.
We don't have to go all Red Chinese. We had this all figured out right here. Just reset everything at the criminal justice level to what it was when Giuliani and Bratton were running NYC, and Pataki was governor. That solved what was a longstanding crime problem in NY (both city and state) quickly and effectively.

The AR-15 uses the same round as an M-16, it is identical in every respect except that the AR-15 doesn't have full auto. The poster indicated that the AR-15 uses a "small round" so it's not significant, that is absurd if you ever saw the damage inflicted by the AR-15 or M16, go look at the man Rittenhouse shot. Small entry wound, exit wound the size of a melon.
I'll wait for them to discover another gun but right now the AR-15 is the preferred choice by mass shooters.
Go look at the school resource officers on LI and tell me they are ready to go up against someone with an AR-15
