How about the Jolly Roger Merry-Go-Round on Hempstead TPk near Hicksville Rd. Used to take the children I babysat for there; to catch the gold ring. Also Wetson's was the place to go at lunch time from Island Trees High School. OH! And the Farmer's Market that was across from Grumman Aircraft...had wonderful Hungarian Babka Poppyseed cake from one of the vendors there!

Reason: and one more thing!
I remember the Wetsons that was out on Hempstead TPK near Island Trees HS, at the end of Emerson Rd. How about the drive-through Dairy Barn on Hicksville Rd, catty corner from St James Catholic Church; Is that still there?
The Farmers market next to the Bayshore Mall? YEAH I remember that! It was like a big shanty over there.
And I was just a little kid but lived in Bayshore, I remember Wetson's up there on Sunrise Highway.
I remember the Farmers Market in Bayshore, also remember Wetson's.
I remember the Bay Shore Drive In. I say the Invasion of the Body Snatchers when I was a kid and had nightmares for years.
You know I just used to think that was a movie. But after I entered the workforce, I often wondered how true that movie was given some of the people I work with...
Yes I do, I remember, I remember the clubs ...Beau Brummels, OBI South-West-North-East, proms, proms, proms, Port Jeff ferry...'77-'78. They did some good stuff...Boston, Kansas, Foreigner, Fleetwood Mac, Linda Rondstat, and some funky stuff. Rick Morgan Agency and the blue Ford paper truck.
Driving down the Sunrise today (In the pouring rain of course, should stop by and post on the "Had It With This Weather" Thread) I noticed the Bay Shore Roller Rink building has been demolished.
It was of course adjacent to the Bowling Alley...Just thinking of how much our pasttimes and amusement are tied into devices and objects that cheat friction and drag and defy gravity to an extent...Roller Skate Wheels, Ice Skates, Bowling Balls, Frisbees, Hang Gliders, etc..etc..etc..
