When somebody is being aggressive towards me while driving, I just play dumb now.
I used to get angry back at them, potentially leading to "road rage", but it just isn't worth the risk of being shot, stabbed, crippled, SUED.
When someone tailgates me now, I do the exact speed limit, come to complete dead stop and follow the "5 second rule", slow down to make a right turn instead of taking the turn at 55mph as to not make the person behind me late for their nail appointment. The most important part is to keep the cluless look on your face and not let them see you smirking in the rear view mirrors. I find this works much better than being aggressive back. You actually get the better of someone this way, plus it's safe and law abiding
It is truly amazing. Cell phones are just as illegal as running a red light, or any other traffic vioaltion, yet people just don't view it that way, they see it as no big deal and continue to BREAK THE LAW, as silly as some peole think that law is,
it is still THE LAW! Goshdarnit!
And yes, you irritate the living hell out of me while driving obliviously to the world around you while yapping it up on the phone. Handheld or not.
Plus you look like a looney tune talking to yourself with a hands free

Often I think cell phones may be the worst plaque we've seen in a long time.

I don't think you get points on your license when you're caught driving while talking on your cell. It's only a fine...so the deterrent really isn't there.

If that's true it's terrible but I'm not surprised. It's even legal to use a cell if it's hands-free. C'mon.
Even though the use of cell phones while driving is THE MOST dangerous, the laws are lax. Why? It's political. Unlike speeding, stop signs, etc. if the politicians got tough and the cops enforced it, there would be a lot of political pressure applied to back off, so the politicians don't even try seriously. People have gotten addicted to their cell phones. They can't give them up even temporarily.
Let's also keep in mind other distracting things that people do while they are driving. I've seen men shaving, women applying makeup. I saw one guy reading the newspaper that was open and draped across his steering wheel.
As have I.... There was once a guy in front of me, talking on his cell phone AND leaning over to the passenger side to write stuff down, etc. He was all over the road, stopped at a green light, etc. I leaned on the horn until he woke the frig up and realized he's "supposed" to be driving a car.... I also called "911" on him simply because he was truly creating a dangerous situation....
I've also seen "other" things.... nothing to mention here in mixed company but suffice it to say I WISH I would have had a video camera with me! LOL!
