My father Daniel DiPierro worked for H.C. Bohack Co. for almost 30 years, starting after WWII in Eastern Long Island first as a Produce Manager (Rocky Point), eventually Store Manager (Port Jefferson Station) and then in the mid-60′s he became a District Manager (Bethpage/Port Washington as well as many other locations)…he remained with Bohack until the very end, and even worked at one of the last remaining locations after they went under…my brother, sister and I also worked part-time in Bohack stores during summer vacations during high-school (in Shirley, Setauket, Ronkonkoma)…Daniel DiPierro Jr.

Daniel, there is an edit button, it's there for a purpose.
No need to make 3 different consecutive posts.

My first job when I was 16 was at a supermarket in Elmhurst, Queens
back in 1986, it was a Shopwell that used to be a Bohack which I would
have never known if I hadn't been told by a long time employee over there.

Yes, it was so exciting to go to a real supermarket. There was one in Glen Head Village. I am pretty sure that they even had Green Stamps.
.........those trading stamps were called King Korn.......why they ever picked that name is beyond me..............

the world does not end because he made 3 posts,2 were completely different,I am sure you meant nothing harsh, but on a computer it just sounds nasty, give people a break, not everyone of us is savy with these things,Daniel had some insightful things to say, that should be what you got out of it,atleast that is how I feel,no disrespect intended.

I remember Bohack's. There was one on Jamaica Avenue and 102nd Street in Richmond Hill. There was also a Davies (sp?) chocolate/candy store on the same block. I think Bohack's was gone before Davies.

My father was in the produce business back in the 50's and 60's and used to sell to Bohacks supermarkets. He also sold to "Hills" and "IGA" back then.
