Their tacos were great. I miss them too. Obviously they were quite popular because the last time I was on the Jack in the Box website to see if there were any stores left around here, the FAQ has a question about purchasing the tacos online. Alas, they do not sell them except in their stores.
Burger King had tacos a couple of years ago that were very similar to the Jack tacos. I don't believe they sell them any longer.
well this is a recent one but I was pretty annoyed that Brennan & Carr shut down in RVC. They still have the original in Brooklyn but I don't get over there all that often.
I use to live near the Brennan & Carr in Brooklyn. I never could figure out why people got so excited over that place. Nothing special about their roast beef.

I have the recipe. The taste is almost exact, except the sauce is SLIGHTLY different. Try it out for yourself. You'll be pleasantly surprised. It makes about 20-22.(See attachments)

Aren't you the one who made the brilliant post about making these, with the "carelessly placed "cheese"? That was a like a Shakesperian Sonnet the way you described the process of preparing these tacos!!

The Lazy Clam in Smithtown!!! Only ate there once and it was amazing; the best seafood restaurant I had ever been to. I still don't know why it closed down. I really hope the owners make another restaurant sometime.
I really hope Long Island gets a Steak and Shake. They're in the midwest and south. I always eat there when I'm in Florida visiting family.
