Im hoping to get some help about a possible move to L.A. I will be traveling a great deal on business for about 6 months out the year so I was looking for a place within 100 miles or so of L.A. I was hoping for a small town type area since I will make only about 3000 to 3500 a month. Im single so efficiency apartments or living in a room would be ideal. I will be staying in hotels half the time Im out there. Any advice? I will be using a company vehicle and my gas is paid for by my expense account. I will be traveling from Bakersfield to Escondido. And Utah and Oregon in the summer for just a little bit, bt I will be making trips from Ba, to Esc. back and forth for most of the time.

Some might say that your question is way too broad to get a sensible answer.

If you want an non-sensible answer, I'd tell you to live on Panamint St in Mojave, CA. It is near two freeways, a Denny's Restaurant, and you can buy a house for about $30k.

I would suggest Southbay: Carson, Torrance, Lomita, Gardena area since these are close to the 405 and 110 freeway. San Diego is less than 2 hours south, Bakersfield less than 3.
