Both of those were awesome. Used to go there all the time with my Dad when I was growing up. I know Beadles is closed. Not sure about Pasadena Cafeteria.

Also, the Hat or Top's or Conal's or any of the other independent burger places were all far superior to Wolfe's. Not surprised it shut down.

I used to live on Colorado Blvd. near Rosecrans. My favorite restaurant was Brotherton's, best fun shopping the Akron and best place to visit the Huntington in San Marino. At least the Huntington is still there...........

Wolfe Burger was at one time phenomenal, with made to order hamburgers and fresh condiments. They had a huge following. We used to love to eat there; it was nothing like anything else on Lake at the time. It's too bad it underwent a management change; I was sorry to see it close.

Wolfe, was that just north of Colorado? Back in my carnivore days, I worked on Lake Ave. and would go there to get a burger, and they were really good. Sorry to see that shut down. There was a restaurant on Lake, close to The Chronicle, damn, what the hell is it's name. Best lunch menu in town. I know The Chronicle shut down....

I'm too lazy at the moment to look up Rosecrans, where was that, further east on Colorado, it just doesn't ring a bell. Do any of yass remember Colonial Kitchen in San Marino? It was on Huntington Drive, not far from where I lived in Alhambra. Loved that place. One of the best Chinese restaurants I ever knew was Shanghai Palace, also on Huntington. Man, that was back in the day, over twenty years ago. Where the hell does all the time go?????

Oh hell, I remember Top's!!!! That was near Arcadia. My uncle took me there, just prior to his death. He was the greatest uncle anyone could have, when I went away to college, he gave me six thousand dollars, helped me set up a bank account in San Francisco, told me that he knew that I was trustworthy and that I wouldn't blow it on drugs and hookers. I didn't, I still had most of it when I graduated. He had no kids, my cousin and I were his children, and he wanted to make sure that I was okay and had enough money to get by for the years that I was in school. Back in the 80's, that was big money. Great, great guy, he died so suddenly, bad heart. Sorry to digress, but when you mentioned Tops, I just remember him coming down to Socal to visit my dad and I after my mom passed away. He had the hottest wife you ever saw, a South American woman, who he met when he worked in Brazil. Man, mentioning Tops brings that all back...

Wait a minute, was Brotherton's right on Colorado, and they tore it down to build a auto dealership? Was that the one that looked like a farm house? If so, that place was really good.....

Was it The Sawmill? Great restaurant and a wonderful salad bar. (And who would ever think that the Chronicle would have ever closed?)

We used to eat there as kids all the time. A quaint little place I'd forgotten about!

Oh yeah, The Sawmill!!!! I had forgotten about that place, really good. The place I'm thinking about had an Irish name, if memory serves. I think it was down near the flower shop on Lake, a little north of where The Sawmill was located. I remember taking a girl that I had met through work to Sawmill, she was impressed, and so was I, great ambiance. The Chronicle was my favorite, couldn't believe that it would shut down. A first date, it was Sawmill, if the relationship took a very good progression, it became The Chronicle. I thought the Cal Tech crowd would help keep it open, but guess not....
