I thought 300-400 was bad in some newer suburban developments.

I too, wanted to live in a LA loft but although it has gotten better in terms of infrastructure and amenities, I got older and moved to the suburbs.

A couple of friends live in studio apartments and they are "cool" but not really somewhere I'd call home.
If these lofts didn't have the crazy HOA fees, I would've definitely bought down there. Instead, I stuck to the Westside an have a mile bike ride to the beach and only $300 HOA.

Sorry downtown, I don't need a door man and 3 treadmills in the building for a crazy $750 HOA fee.

I've done condos on Wilshire in Westwood and in Century City where the HOA fees are $ 2,500 - & 3,000/mo. I don't get it either.

That's a really nice loft DB. Many of the ones I've in done Downtown LA have concrete walls and concrete slab floors.
