That is not correct.

You may not, but others do. What happens if someone who is jogging trips over someone's illegal stall and breaks their leg? Who pays for that? Certainly not the bum who set up the side street stall.

In that case, he may care in that now he's gotta move his business or lose it.

Not that I'm defending him. Just saying it should not be a surprise. Once you're down that hole, nothing matters anymore.

Default Define "Homeless."

I had a discussion yesterday with a friend about homeless people.
He brought up a pretty good point.
People we think of as homeless, and live in a tent, or even a cardboard box are not homeless.
They have a home, be it a tent, or whatever.
Just because they don't live in a wooden structure with windows, and doors, doesn't mean they don't have a home.

Many who live in tents such as above the LA river, use that tent as their house.
Being homeless does not mean what it says.

The only homeless ones are the ones with no shelter at all.

Bob.

And in most places, $1000 won't get you cardboard box, let alone an apartment.

It's not really the cost of living that's gone up so much. What's really bankrupting people today is the cost of housing and the cost of medical care. Those two things have gone up way out of proportion to everything else.

I've been watching videos of "Can't Pay We'll Take it Away" on Youtube. What they said there was that the number one cause of homelessness in the UK is being evicted, and the reason people are being evicted is because they can't pay their rent any longer. Even those receiving funds for housing can't pay their rent any longer. They have a different system than we do.

Here, if you get help with housing costs, like Section 8, you pay 30% of your income to rent. So if the rent goes up but your income doesn't, the money to pay the rent increase doesn't come out of your pocket. In the UK, people getting help only get a certain amount of money to pay the rent. If the rent goes up, that increase comes out of their pocket. So even with help, many people in the UK can't afford their rent any longer.
I heard its really really hard to get on section 8 housing and alot of it is really ghetto and frequently does not meet code or if it does meet code its just barely.

If I outlive my wife I have thought about moving to Russia, I talk to people online there and it seems to be a more balanced society. I am struggling to know which language I should focus on Russian or German.

My mind is already gone, I really hate the USA, the USA and UK possibly Canada is full of vultures that have destroyed our nation.

I read the article. It said 6,500 homeless were arrested by LAPD for felonies and violent crimes in a year. That's almost 1 out of 5 homeless people in city limits. That seems like an insane crime rate. The statistic I tried to look up but couldn't find was how many total arrests for felonies there were in LA. Even if there were 100,000 total felony arrests by LAPD in a year, the homeless felony rate would still be 700% of the per capita average. That's much more dangerous than I ever imagined.

Your comment has nothing to do with anything that I said. It's a complete non sequitur.

I may as well ask you, in response, does it rain a lot in Paraguay?

Just saying because blacks were brought to the U.S. as slaves.
