Pooping on the metro is now illegal, who knew? $100 fine. A word to the wise is sufficient.

But the powder keg has yet to go off. There has been little spread of the novel coronavirus in Los Angeles’ street encampments. Some shelters have had outbreaks, but most of those infected had no symptoms.

Of the more than 1,300 cases among homeless people in L.A. County, fatalities by mid-August stood at 31, a mortality rate comparable to or better than that of the overall population.

Have L.A.'s homeless people dodged a COVID-19 catastrophe?:

I've heard that some people who have been experienced to different viruses over the years could be more immune to Covid-19. For example, if you've been in a position where you're always around people your immune system has been exposed to many viruses & your body has fought & won. Possibly for other conronaviruses. So when you're exposed to covid-19 it doesn't hit you as bad as if you were never experienced.

Default Homeless Encampments Spread to venice beach new Skid row

YouTube video of extensive homeless encampments along the beachfront in Venice Beach. Very sad. We need to reopen the mental institutions and up the rehab facilities. How many major California cities don't have a mental illness/drug addiction crisis like this? Any?

In the 80’s me and my friends used to go walk around the Venice boardwalk. It has always been a little sketchy but it was so fun to watch the roller skaters, break dancers, live performers and the weight lifters on muscle beach. Now I wouldn’t walk around there unless I was carrying a gun. It’s tragic what LA is turning into.

Fake news. Don't you know CA is the world's fifth largest economy? The salaries of these public employees reflect that. Look at the total pay and benefits in the last column. If taxpayers can afford to pay public employees that much money, then surely there is no way homelessness can exist in a state awash in so much wealth.

I'm surprised they let them camp on the regular street (as opposed to under the underpasses, which is state). Why do they allow them to camp just anywhere?

I live in a beach town, but the officials make homeless people camp in certain areas only.

What is the lawsuit about?

Interesting how the cops allow chop shops everywhere.
