Is there even any point in moving to California anymore?

I'd suggest you check out Texas. Plenty of growth, lots of opportunity. People moving there every day and it just keeps growing.

Every major US city has been impacted by covid-19. I'd hold off on any big moves until we get a vaccine.

IF i was anyone looking to move to texas id'e research texas before i moved there!!! i hear that texas is becoming the next CA with all of the liberal lunacy. it would really suck to have to uproot again!!! though i do agree on what you said..

I moved out here to Los Angeles last year at age 27. OP- you should do what your heart feels like, and ignore the naysayers on here. That sounds like a good setup with your friend in NoHo. Although I did move out here with a full-time job on hand, there's nothing wrong with doing side hustle gigs for your first several months here before finding a more permanent position. You are at the perfect age to make the move to LA, and this place is more resilient and accommodating than CD forums would lead you to believe.

Thank God! These Evangelical hypocrites are the bane of my existence. (I would never live in Texas voluntarily--until it starts turning sane/purple--except that I was born here!)
