There were just nearly 7k cases yesterday. Thats the 2nd most since February of this year. Cases arent stabilizing, they are just getting going. Get your mask ready and be prepared for incoming lockdowns. Midterm elections are over, these politicians have nothing to fear now.

Yes, yes. Lets just force everyone to wear masks and hide in their houses the rest of their lives. China approves.

Are you capable of rational discussion - yes or no? China couldn't even keep its citizens at home when exposed, leading to the present disastrous spread. Do you expect cases anywhere to magically permanently dry to a trickle without restrictions and without (unlikely) increased deadliness doing that? I've been bleating that targeting situations of high transmission is how to slow things enough that maybe we can live with it (until medical advancement pins it down greatly). As is (almost no restrictions), the virus might spread even faster and mutate out of Paxlovid's grasp.

You'll know it's on when they close the Oceans and Forests. Again.

Just please, keep it up there. San Diego doesn't like to play insanity.

Have they cured the flu? Nope. Covid is very similar, there will NEVER be a cure for it. Some years, the flu is more deadly than others but most the general population is fine. So unless you are going to force people to wear masks year round, you deal with it the same way you deal with the seasonal flu.

The flu is from a completely different virus family and is much less transmissible and therefore much easier on society than COVID-19 is.

The status quo is a failure.

Another school district already announced testing before students can return to class, which is a much more effective measure. I don't understand why LAUSD isn't doing the same. It worked early this year. Masking as the strictest measure will never end the pandemic.
