Funny how no one likes the weather. I hear from my friends on FB that they can't wait for the summer to come, the spring to come, the fall to come, the winter to come. They always seem to like the seasons just not the season that they are in. What is up with that? For those of you that don't like the weather here, do you like it anywhere? Have you never complained about all that four seasons living that you may have come from? People move to get away from something that they don't like and then they complain when they find a place that is going to solve all their problems.

I think San Francisco's climate is ideal...it has nice autumns, great springs, far cooler summers, and mild winters. It's almost always breezy, has clouds in the sky that break the monotony of grey/brown/crap smog, and it's cleaner air quality in general.

There's nothing to complain about the climate up there. Also, even though BC rains a lot, the climate in spring and summer is absolutely superb. Not only that, the greenery actually is a positive....

Well if weather you don't like builds character, then people who love 4 seasons should move to San Diego or Hawaii to develop their "character" to it's highest potential.

As I pointed out, Southern California weather does vary. It apparently doesn't vary as much as you'd like, but it does vary. For example, the Los Angeles daily mean varies by 13F over the course of a year. Funny - precisely the same daily mean variation as San Francisco. And you profess that Bay Area weather is terrific.

Ooops - seems you might want to get your story straight.

Of course, Los Angeles varies widely, from moderate beaches to hot inland valleys to snow atop Mount Lukens (which is within the Los Angeles city limits).

I'll take nice sunny, breezy, white puffy cloud days that throw sunlight around in all directions, have dark spots, light spots, light drizzle, over night rain, etc over the dull, boring, monotone, white-smog filled skies of LA anyday.
Ah, yes. You have preferences. What seems to elude you is that your weather preferences represent just that - personal taste. It is rather narcissistic of you to confuse your own tastes with quantifiable superiority.

You haven't lived in other places with nice weather apparently...you think comparing artic weather to a dry Mediterranean climate is an even comparison.
"nice weather" is what one prefers, nothing more.

I was merely responding to your spouting of that old parental canard, "Shovel the driveway! It builds character!". I'm surprised you bought that pablum.

Actually, I'm not surprised...

It's OK not to like Los Angeles. You don't have to try so hard to come up with all these quantifiable reasons to do so. You can just prefer something else.

Really.

It's OK.

Bay area weather varies a lot more than that...sorry.

You should...I agree.

Yeah good luck with that....enjoy the traffic. Apparently you don't understand the difference between varying weather in my local area versus 50 miles away on a mountain top....just saying.

Oh you mean that arrogance and superiority complex that people like yourself show when it comes to LA? I see...

Apparently not to people who live in LA...would like me to quote the "Weather sucks everywhere else but LA" mantra chants on these forums? Oh wait...you already know that.

Oh I get it...you have to compare weather in LA to an extreme case to make your point...that's how strong your argument is...oh OK...cool. I make a note of that for future use.

On the contrary, you don't have to try so hard to defend it...it's rather pathetic...it's ok too....calm down.

LOL! I live in B.C and this is the first time I ever heard anyone say that the climate around here is "superb". You shoould ask B.C residents if they think the climate is superb during the 6 months of constant cloud and drizzle. It is true that the climate here is mild compared to much of the continent, however, that isn't saying much as I think the east coast and the mid west have pretty nasty weather.

OP: Usually in the summer time Socal tends to heat up. Usually a lot of people don't notice this cause a lot of tourist visit LA and SD and other Socal cities during winter times when our climates are more cooler and tempered, but reality is that it does get hot like any other city in the country during the summer season.

The valleys do and the inland areas do but for the most part it isn't humid there so it isn't as bad as the majority of the US. Also, a great part of the LA basin (on the ocean side of the mountains) doesn't get that hot in summer.
