Revisiting this topic after such a long time, but... Think about it. I posted that in 2008. How much May gray or June gloom have you seen since then?

Yeah, sure, we have a few gloomy days in May and June (not over yet) but how many overcast days do you recall in recent Mays and Junes?

It's spooky!

This year has not been that bad for overcast weather.

I can't recall any of the last several years having gloomy weather in May and June.

Maybe Algore was right. But maybe global warming is a good thing, did you ever think of that?

Best weather for people who like long, hot summers, pathetic winters, and barely noticeable spring and fall seasons.

But this place sucks for people that like actual seasons with the expected weather and temperature shifts within those seasons. But LA is basically 8 months of summer.

"Pathetic winters?" I'll take sunny and cool over snow and ice ANY day.

The thing is that if you absolutely must have some winter then it is just a short hop to the mountains away. There is enough non native vegetation around to see colored leaves.

It really isn't the same.

But living through brutal winters and waxing nostalgic for them are not the same thing. Sure the cool days in the midwest/east coast are great during October and the freezing cold is great during the holidays, but when it is mid-March (or even late April) and still under 50 degrees and everything is dead, having 4-season loses its desirability significantly.

Seriously...Seasons are fun when they change. Not when you are in midst of Summer and Winter.

I could go for three months of autumn (with extended color change of trees), three months of spring (some good rains and blooms) and six months of summer. Forget winter.

There aren't even 4 seasons on the Midwest any more. You get 5 months of Winter, 5 months of Summer, and 2 months between them that are sort of half of each.
